FAQs

Why start OpEx 20:20?

The Legal industry has been slow to embrace collaboration.

But in an increasingly global marketplace, collaboration has become essential in order for legal organisations and professionals to maintain competitiveness.

Competitors must now become occasional collaborators, and legal organisations and professionals must quickly learn how and when to collaborate, in order to achieve the best client results.

OpEx 20:20 provides law firms and organisations with the ideal forum to discuss, showcase and reward the best improvement programmes in the industry.

What makes OpEx 20:20 different?

OpEx 20:20 is a joint venture, combining the vast expertise and experience of global legal publisher The Legal 500 with the subject matter know-how of Lex OpenSource.

We are bringing together general counsel, new law, and private practice, to interact and share learning that makes a difference on a day-to-day practical basis.

OpEx 20:20 will use Lean methodology, in order to ensure 20:20 ExPo is a truly immersive and worthwhile learning experience.

What is Lean methodology and why are you using it?

Lean methodology is designed for developing businesses and products with a shorter product development cycle. Many organisations from healthcare to manufacturing have successfully implemented Lean methodology. It allows for an assessment of viability, and helps identify waste in processes, in order to lower costs and increase margin.

By using lean methodology, we will be able to improve the efficiency and assess the feasibility of the processes and projects presented.

How does the voting process work?

OpEx 20:20 has a transparent judging process. The Legal 500, Lex OpenSource, guest judges, and attendees collaborate and work together to decide the winners. Those shortlisted have the opportunity to present their ideas before the vote.

Everyone attending OpEx 20:20 will vote to contribute in the selection of the winners.

Is OpEx 20:20 going to be a UK-only event?

No. OpEx 20:20 will extend into the United States, Europe and Asia throughout 2020.
